She has been a Senior Research Scientist with the Medical Research Council, Principal of the Good Housekeeping Institute, and Science Director of the British Nutrition Foundation. She now runs her own Company, Ashwell Associates. She acts as Programme Advisor for the Food Standards Agency's Research Programme on Optimal Nutrition Status and as nutrition consultant to Marks and Spencer. Anne de la Hunty has now joined Ashwell Associates having originally worked with Margaret at the British Nutritional Foundation (BNF).Anne also worked for the Department of Health for a number of years.Margaret acts as disseminator to two large EU Framework 5 research projects which cover nutrition from cradle to grave!: Whereas SENIOR FOOD QOL will improve the nutritional well-being of older people and hence their independence and quality of life, CHOPIN (www.childhood-obesity.org) will relate aspects of infant nutrition to childhood obesity.
